Repair Services

A watch is a mechanical timepiece, and like all things mechanical, it needs to be maintained.

At Watch Tech we service and restore all types of timepieces from vintage watches to modern exclusive brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe and Omega. Our dedicated workshop caters for all situations from band repairs, battery changes and water pressure testing to complete servicing and complex restorations. Most repairs (including battery replacements) can be carried out quickly by one of our Swiss trained watchmakers.

Watch Repairs

Our watch makers will examine the watch and provide an assessment and quote prior to commencing any works. We charge $45 for this quote which is deducted should you approve the repair works required.

Watch Restoration

We can carry out a complete service to restore your watch to, or close to, its original standards. We pay careful attention to ensure your watch looks as good as the day you bought it and is ready to serve you well for many years to come.

Watch restorations are a meticulous process that involves bringing a timepiece back to its original glory. Our skilled watchmakers carefully disassemble the watch, examining each component for wear, damage, or corrosion. They clean and repair or replace any worn or broken parts, ensuring that the watch functions accurately.

The watchmaker then carefully reassembles the watch, meticulously oiling and adjusting the movement for optimal performance. The case and dial can be polished or restored to their original lustre.

Finally, the watch is tested for accuracy and reliability before being returned to its owner.

Battery Changes

Pricing for battery changes start from $49. For watches with water resistance ratings we recommend a pressure test at each battery change, this service can be performed with a battery change for $135. Please allow 30 minutes for a standard battery change and 60 minutes for pressure tests and seals.

Watch battery exchanges are a crucial part of maintaining the functionality of your timepiece. Our skilled watchmakers provide prompt and professional watch battery replacement services to ensure that your watch keeps ticking. We offer quick turnaround times (usually 30 minutes or 60 minutes with pressure testing). While replacing the battery, our watchmakers can also inspect your watch for any other issues, such as moisture or damaged components, and provide recommendations for further repairs or maintenance.

Pressure Testing

Ensure that no water or moisture can enter your watch at a certain depth when submerged in water. Please allow up to 60 minutes for pressure testing.

Our water pressure testing service utilises industry-standard methods and specialised equipment to accurately test the water resistance of your watch. We simulate real-world conditions to ensure that your timepiece can withstand exposure to moisture and water without compromising its integrity.

Watch Polishing

Bring your watch back to life with our shine and polish services. We only use products that are safe and they will also offer ongoing protection to your time piece.

Our watch polishing service involves the restoration and rejuvenation of the exterior surface of a watch to enhance its appearance and remove any scratches, scuffs, or imperfections.

Here’s a brief overview of what may be involved in a professional watch polishing service:

  1. Inspection: The watch is carefully inspected to assess the condition of the case, bezel, bracelet, and other external components to determine the extent of polishing needed.
  2. Cleaning: The watch is thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, grime, and oils from the surface, preparing it for the polishing process.
  3. Polishing: The watchmaker uses specialised tools and abrasives to gently remove scratches, scuffs, and other imperfections from the watch’s surface. The polishing process may involve multiple stages, including rough polishing, fine polishing, and buffing, depending on the type of material and finish of the watch.
  4. Restoration: If necessary, deeper scratches or dents may require additional restoration techniques, such as filling and re-shaping, to bring the watch’s surface back to its original condition.
  5. Finishing: After polishing, the watch is carefully inspected again to ensure that the desired finish is achieved. If needed, final touches may be made to ensure a smooth, even, and consistent appearance.
  6. Cleaning and Inspection: Once the polishing process is complete, the watch is thoroughly cleaned to remove any polishing residues and undergoes a final inspection to ensure that it meets the desired standard of appearance.
